I never imagined that a public sector bank could create a credit card that would make me say, “This card is fantastic; I should obtain this card,” on the first day of the card’s debut. The Bank of Baroda Eterna Credit Card, issued by BOB Financial Solutions Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank of Baroda), is regarded as one of the top Premium Credit Cards in India for use while making purchases online. Check out the details of this card right now.

Limitations

Especially in comparison to other Premium Credit Cards in India, the Reward rates for offline transactions and transactions over the 5x limit are lower. Bank of Baroda provides an Eterna Credit Card customer service email and phone number, but I am still waiting to receive a response to my inquiries. Nonetheless, I was eventually successful in reaching them via phone support. Customer service is a significant area for improvement.

Costs of doing business in other currencies are kept to a minimum + Additional Benefits

Bank of Baroda Eterna Credit Card, like other Super Premium Credit Cards like HDFC Diners Black Credit Card, charges a 2%+GST (18%) forex markup fee. Paytm Movie benefit: BOGO, Maximum Allowance: Rs. 250 One Time Per Month. Free subscription for the first six months with FitPass Pro.

Benefits of Playing Golf with Mastercard. Forex markup Fee: 2%+GST. It is encouraging to discover that the card has a cheaper markup cost than other perks. However, I need to find out who uses Paytm to purchase movie tickets since I have never used it.

Should you go ahead and buy it?

You should apply for this card if you make significant purchases online (except on websites such as Amazon and Flipkart, where co-branded offers are available from many other Credit Cards). This card offers an AMAZING return of 3.75% on online purchases. Make the most of the 5x points monthly and spend Rs 5L a year.

You will earn a total of 83,000 reward points (5000*12 as 5x rewards, 3000 as rewards on spending above the 5x limit, and 20000 on completing the annual milestone of Rs 5L), which is equivalent to Rs 20,750 and translates to 4.15% returns, which is even more than the returns offered by Super Premium Credit Cards such as HDFC Diners Club Black or HD The most significant aspect is that the reward points may be exchanged for credit in the form of cash that is added to the card.

In addition to this, you will not be required to pay the annual fee for the following year. I applied for the BoB Eterna Credit Card on the day it was launched through the BoB Financials website, and I received a call from a Bank executive the next day after I applied for the card. After applying for the credit card, I received an approval message approximately 18 days later, and the card itself was delivered to me within another three working days. The process went very smoothly.

Bottom line

The Final Verdict from the Card expert: 4.7 out of 5. It is undeniably an excellent premium credit card offer for those who know how to get the most out of it since the 3.75% return is the greatest one can ever obtain on regular internet expenditures in India. However, since there is a limit of 5,000 bonus points every month, it may not be suitable for those who make large purchases. I wish they had a ceiling of 10,000 or greater, or at the very least, a cap per quarter instead.

Anyway, seeing such aggressive products being offered by a public sector bank is imposing. Because of this, I find myself wondering whether BOB is trying to acquire BOB Financial, which manages its credit card business and turns it into a publicly traded company.
